Two Ways to Top Pitta Pizza: Turkey Pizza & Shiitake Mushroom Pizza

There’s only one way to make a perfect day even better – having a slice (or 3) of pizza! Whether you’re settling on your couch to watch a movie with your partner or have hungry friends over, the only food that everybody instantly agrees on is pizza.

While it’s tempting to have a pizza delivered, you can easily whip one out of the oven in no time with the right ingredients – and homemade pizza means you can choose toppings that aren’t offered at your neighborhood pizza joint! Making individual servings, especially, is a fun and exciting activity that lets everybody pick their toppings and build their own pizza.

Pitta Pizza

For a quick and easy way to make pizzas, pitta bread is the way to go. With a readymade base, you can get super creative with the sauce and toppings, and spend more time choosing what you want to put on your pizza. This recipe will focus on two toppings: turkey, and Shiitake mushrooms – and if you’re feeling indulgent, both!

Whether you have people over for a Sunday brunch or have a movie marathon planned with your friends, these pitta bread pizzas are perfect for any occasion. When served with a side of salad and tied together with a splash of Molassity Pomegranate Molasses, these pizzas will have everyone coming back for seconds and thirds!

The turkey and cranberry combo is a classic, but switching out the cranberry for the tart and sweet taste of pomegranate is a game changer. It’s delicious, unique, and healthier! And if you have a vegetarian in the family? No problemo, just replace the turkey with some Shiitake mushrooms. Their meat-like, chewy texture packs a lot of protein.

Why Pitta Pizzas?

Pitta pizzas offer an easy way out for novice cooks who love pizza but hate kneading the dough. Making pizza dough may look simple in tutorial videos, but for someone inexperienced, it can be messy and time consuming to clean.

Pitta pizzas are also great for parties as they can easily be baked and served hot – and your guests can choose their toppings too!

These pizzas are also quite popular among kids who can help you add the sauce and toppings, making them feel like little chefs themselves!
